Below are 6 figures, all are symmetrical. They were created in 12 steps involving 'growing' branches off a forked base trunk. The position of each new branch is random and in addition 3 'mutations' have been built into the growth algorithm. These 'mutations' affect the degree to which a new branch can grow inwards (towards the symmetry plane) and downwards, the number of branches per growth node and the number of growth nodes

Three of the figures involved 'human mutation selection' i.e. from a choice of 7 mutations, 1 was chosen for the new growth. The other three had no human interference. See if you can identify the types

Hit Begin to grow your own mutations over 12 generations. The purpose of the demo is explained after you have created your own 'life form'
